Friends of the Library

Who are the Friends of Essex Public Library?

The Friends of the Library supports the library’s mission through volunteerism, fundraising, and advocacy. The Friends provide financial support beyond state and local tax dollars to help with unfunded initiatives, including summer reading programs for children, special events for all ages, furniture and equipment purchases, and much more. The Friends of the Library Board meets monthly and collects input from the general membership. If you wish to contact the Friends Board, please e-mail Friends@EPLVA.org.

Each fall, the Friends sponsor and plan “Evening with a Writer”, a popular annual event that brings nationally recognized authors to Essex County.  Please contact Hannah at Friends@EPLVA.org if you are interested in helping with Evening with a Writer or would like to suggest an author.
